It isn't really Christmas until we do the Nativity

"This is the season, beloved of the year. Sing a rhyme, Christmas-time soon will be here."
Tell the true story of Jesus' birth, when as a baby, he came to the earth

"This is the new star, shining so bright, lighting the world on that first Christmas night."

"This is the angel, proclaiming the birth, singing "Hosanna!" and "Peace on the earth!"

"These are the shepherds, humble and mild, hast'ning to worship the heavenly child.

"These are the wise men, who followed the star, Frankincense, gold and myrrh brought from afar."

" See the sweet Mother, Mary so fair. Joseph, who guided the donkey with care. See the dear baby of Bethlehem, Little Lord Jesus the Savior of men." -THE NATIVITY SONG
This was a wonderful Christmas! We were hoping to see our family over the mountains but the weather was too scary for us! We stayed home and continued to be buried in snow. We (mom)tried to stay inside and we enjoyed our friends and family here. We even had an unexpected house guest one night because the snow was so bad a lot of roads were closed and our good friend Gino Bartmess (who Phil worked with in Korea) couldn't get home. He came and had Family Home Evening with us and the Hoggans who happened to be here also that night for FHE and some games. A wild game of SPOONS and a deadly game of MAFIA!! That was a fun night!
The kids spent a lot of time outdoors in the snow and Phil took them to the sledding hill a few times. We were happy to have our niece Paige with us. We kidnapped her from her parents after her brothers wedding weekend. The kids had a great time with her! Jerika is already missing her (she had to go back yesterday).
We are excited for the New Year! It should be a good one!!

Nik's Favorite Scripture

Remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.
Helaman 5:12

Phil's Favorite Scripture

Yea, verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men.
Alma 48:17
